This changes the cutting performance of the blade by tweaking the alloy and its heat treat process.  This means the metal was manipulated specifically for the intended purpose of hunting, fishing, and cooking. Another advantage to this process is that the blade will stay sharp much longer than most production quality knives and has better durability or chip-resistance.  This Damascus is made from 1095/15N20 steel in a Random pattern. There are 180 blade layers that have been tempered at 54 to 56. The hand polished hand is made from real stag with a brass frame and brass bolsters. When closed the blade fits snug into the double walled handle.
