This lantern is made from brass with an antique finish to make this piece have an old world look of age. The square body comes with four glass panels.  The top features a handle with loop for tying up or hanging the lantern as well as the bottom. The top of the lantern is hinged with small decorative vents a allow heat to escape.  The front includes a lock with a hook closure attached by a small chain. Inside there is a small oil lamp with adjustable wick that can burn oil or kerosene.  Not only can this lamp be used to light a cargo hold they could also be used to light passage ways and cabins.
