Bowie Code of the West Hunting Knife
The Code of the West is an unwritten, socially agreed upon set of informal laws shaping the cowboy culture of the Old West. Although not everyone adhered to the code and matters needed to be taken into your own hands just like James Bowie on the faithful day back in 1827 at the Sandbar Fight. Newspapers picked up the story, which became known as the Sandbar Fight, and described in detail Bowies fighting prowess and his unusual knife. I dont know if unusual best describes this blade unless you were calling it unusually beautiful then I would have to agree. The attractive Bowie you see here is definitely something to talk about with its massive blade and broad handle. The blade is a traditional clip point with a short fuller and satin finish but the thickness of the blade is the prize making it extremely durable. It is constructed from 440 stainless steel. A wooden stained handle gives it a unique look while the brass guard and pommel accents the colors making them subtle yet vibrant. Included is a thick tooled leather sheath with a belt loop and snap closure.
