Pirate Swords

The Pirate Sword Cutlass  is also a Naval sword generally called a cutlass it’s a short broad saber with a slight curve to the blade. The hilt was often cupped or a basket style shaped guard. The name Cutlass came in being in the 16^th century. The sword was made for multiple uses from farming to warfare. The Cutlass is best known for the pirate movies and the early naval movies.
